How we write and review

Editorial policy.

Who writes the pages on this site, who checks them, where the facts come from, and what we will not publish. A family reading about addiction deserves to know how the page in front of them was made.

Who writes these pages

Articles on the RHR Blog and guides in the Recovery Library are written by the Ranch House Recovery editorial team, working with our marketing partner, Nava Media. The byline says “Written by Ranch House Recovery” because the organization stands behind the words. When a page quotes someone from our team, it names that person and their role, and the words are theirs.

Who reviews them

Education pages are read by Cristy De La Rosa, LMFT-A, LCDC, ADHD-CCSP, Advisor and Therapist to Ranch House Recovery. She reads for clinical accuracy, for safety, and for honest claims about what this program is. A reviewed page shows “Clinically reviewed by” with her name and the date. When she asks for a change, we make it and update the date on the page.

Her review is a clinician’s read of general education. It is not a diagnosis, and it is not medical advice for any one person.

Where the facts come from

We rely on primary sources: federal agencies such as the FDA, DEA, NIDA and SAMHSA; Texas agencies such as the Department of State Health Services; peer-reviewed research; and established newsrooms for current events. Every statistic links to its source in the text, and each article ends with a numbered list of sources.

Standing rules

What we will not publish.

Doses

No dosing, taper schedules or instructions for stopping a substance at home. Withdrawal decisions belong to a physician.

Promises

No promised outcomes and no success rates we cannot stand behind. Recovery is real, and it is never guaranteed.

Identity

Ranch House Recovery is a long-term men’s recovery program. It is not a detox, a hospital or a psychiatric facility, and no page may suggest otherwise.

People

No invented people. Team members quoted in an article are real, named with their role, and quoted in their own words.

Sales

No page says where or how to buy a drug, kratom and 7-OH products included, and no page is written to pressure a family into a decision.

Dates, updates and corrections

Each article shows the date it was published and, when it changes in a meaningful way, the date it was updated. Reviewed pages also show the date of review. We revisit education pages at least once a year and sooner when the law or the research moves.

If you find an error, email info@ranchhouserecovery.com. We check the claim against the source, correct the page if we were wrong, and update its date.

If someone is in danger

Nothing on this site replaces emergency care. If someone is unresponsive, struggling to breathe or having a seizure, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988. Read our full medical disclaimer.
